Comedian Chelsea Handler has gone topless in a social media video to draw attention to potential voter intimidation in Michigan on Election Day, saying that voters could face people carrying guns at polling locations.
The anti-Trump Hollywood celebrity also warned that the election may not be decided for “days and days and days and days” and that “you have to be prepared to accept that democracy means that every vote is counted.”
In the video, which was posted to Twitter Tuesday afternoon, the 45-year-old Chelsea Handler appears topless save for two “I Voted” stickers that she used as pasties to cover her nipples.
“Please do not let anyone intimidate you on voting lines. I know it can be intimidating when people have guns in the state of Michigan, which is ridiculous,” she said

“If you are intimated by anyone, please do not engage. Hold your head up high. Go in and cast your ballot for the candidate that you choose.”
Last week, the Michigan Court of Appeals affirmed that the open carry of firearms is legal at the polls on Election Day. However, the public brandishing of firearms remains illegal in the state.
Michigan remains a hotly contested battleground state, with President Donald Trump holding the final rally of his campaign in Grand Rapids on Monday.
Handler, who hails from New Jersey, then launched into a short speech about how the election may not be decided for days.
“This is a democracy. We will not stop until every vote is counted. We don’t know how it’s going to go today. It could be called tonight because there could such an overwhelming victory for Joe Biden. Or we could have to wait days and days and days and days. Either way, you have to be prepared to accept that democracy means that every vote is counted.”
She concluded by pointing to her nipples. “One for me,” she said, pointing to one nipple. “Well, I can’t vote twice, so just one.”
Handler has shed her clothes a number of times to make political statements against President Trump. She posted a topless image in 2016 with the words “Trump Is A Butt Hole” written across her back and butt.

During the 2018 midterm elections, she stripped nude on Instagram Stories to push voter participation. “You have to vote like your life depends on it! Vote!” Handler said in the video clip.

Chelsea Handler received pushback Tuesday on Twitter for saying it is “pathetic” that Derek Chauvin is receiving a trial when there is video of his interaction with George Floyd. “Perhaps we skip trials when there is audio and video footage of the murder,” she suggested.

“Ah, yes. let’s just let the government decide what evidence reaches the threshold to skip a trial and just let them sentence as they wish without question,” wrote one user. “If you think the system is biased, you should be smart enough to know you don’t want to give that system less transparency.”
“I think the idea is, you never know when there will be a case where the result seems 100% obvious due to lock-solid evidence, and yet it is the rare instance where somehow something was missed To make sure you never wrongly gloss over that, you always have to follow due process,” another user tweeted.
Handler has been outspoken about her political views, especially since former President Donald Trump came on the scene. As The Daily Wire reported regarding Handler’s views of white privilege:
Handler, whose show “Chelsea Lately” aired on E! from 2007 to 2014, said that “after therapy and kind of taking a look at myself and my surroundings and coming to the realization that my success has a lot to do with my skin color, I wanted to really do something that set an example about how to, you know, contribute because at this point, it’s not enough to just say you’re not racist.”
“You know, you have to be — we have to be working to dismantle the system because we are reaping the benefits in exchange for people losing benefits,” she added.
Recounting how one of her friends grew “weepy” discussing the book “White Fragility” with her, Handler said, “I was like, this is exactly what the problem is. And she was like, no, I’m just telling you. I go, don’t. No, you can’t talk to me about it either anymore. No more white people should be talking about how sad they are. Like, now we know we [expletive] up. Let’s fix the problem.”
